Product Details
Offset lithograph with silver on paper. This work belongs to a limited edition of 300 and is hand signed and numbered by Takashi Murakami on the lower right corner. Published by Kaikai Kiki Co., Japan.
Takashi Murakami's work always turns around World War II. Joy and death is a theme the artist comes back to unavoidably and flowers and skulls are representative of that. The way they mingle around together in harmony makes us think they are always present no matter the background or particular situation that an individual has.
On the other side, according to the artist, his Flowers and Skulls series are opposite to still lifes. Still lifes are intended to capture the moment and a situation so that it can never die. Murakami's Flowers and Skulls series may seem very similar but they are never the same; they are all about the idea of change and evolution.
