Both Jake and Dinos Chapman have depeloved their creations around the "Disasters of War" by Francisco Goya since the beginning of their career. The fascination for this series has led Jake Chapman to keep working on it almost 40 years after. Just like Goya did when creating this horrifying yet realistic depictions of war, the Chapman Brothers also shocked the art scene when presenting Goyas original etchings from 1937 redrawn with the duo imaginary.
