Within this context, Fame was created from the original collage Yellow Flowers, 2020, one of the standout pieces from the exhibition. In this series, Smith paid tribute to influential artists who have redefined contemporary art, such as Andy Warhol. Specifically, Fame pays homage to Warhol’s iconic Flowers, reinterpreting them through Smith’s characteristic style of image fragmentation and the inclusion of words associated with each hue.
